[Phys-L] Re: THE WEDGE STRATEGY of The ID Movement

Actually, what I oppose is the Federal government taking ANY
stand on abortion - and especially on ID. I think Roe vs. Wade
was a colossal mistake. Abortion, ID, display of 10 commandments
or the Code of Hamurabi are all local issues. They were not
powers assigned to the Federal government in the Constitution and
therefore belong to the states.

I see the imposition of Roe vs Wade from a leftist court just as
disgusting as the attempt by the religious section of the right
to entice President Bush to impose ID on local schools.

|I am anti-abortion, but it has nothing to do with "loving
|babies". I am against it because once the state starts
devaluing
|a certain stage of life - 'fetus' or 'baby' - then the door is
|open to devalue other stages - 'old farts' like me. I don't
|believe in 'souls' or other forms of religious voodoo and
|wizardry, but I do care about the government sticking a big
|needle in my arm because they feel it would be better for
society
|or because they somehow think that I can't possibly be
enjoying
|my quality of life at my age.

Then you should be "pro-choice", ie: keep the government out of
these
decisions.
