[Phys-L] Re: [SPAM-4.611] Re: THE WEDGE STRATEGY of The ID Movement

Having had to take my daughter into local hospitals for
intravenous medication for severe headaches several times at the
small hours of the morning - I can state that EVERYONE with
non-life-threatening illnesses waits hours on end at an urban
hospital - regardless of their ability to pay.

I cannot cry crocodile tears for the uninsured. Again, if the
child is not receiving care - it is the parents choice. All you
have pointed out is that they may be inconvenienced - but you
seem to agree that they still get treated.

are not physics related - the Intelligent Design responses
certainly are.)

This sounds nice, but in reality emergency rooms at private
hospitals
are only required to treat and STABILIZE patients who present
with
EMERGENCY medical needs. The parents of a child with a medical
problem
that is not life threatening may have to wait hours for care
for their
child, and if follow-up care is needed for a problem that does
not
require immediate treatment they may be referred to the nearest
public
hospital or clinic, where again wait times may be in the hours.
Parents
who work minimum wage jobs, may not be able to spend those
hours
waiting. And, instead, they wait until the kid gets really,
really sick
be for seeking treatment.

As a result many children of hard-working parents (as well as
the kids
of the lazy dysfunctional drug addicts, etc.), particularly
those in
poorer states, get third-world health care.
