[Phys-L] Re: [SPAM-4.611] Re: THE WEDGE STRATEGY of The ID Movement

I have stayed out of this discussion so far because it is inane
to argue these issues - everyone has their mind made up before
the discussion begins.

However, as a taxpayer, I couldn't let the comment below pass
without comment. NO baby goes without health care in America
because of lack of insurance or the inability to pay. If you are
truly poor you get de facto free health care. No emergency room
will turn you away, and your bills are basically uncollectible.
Many doctors in every city do pro bono work and treat the poor
and especially their children. Of course, the rest of us pay for
their services in the end.

The reason most babies have health problems that don't get
addressed is because of parents who have "better" things to do
with their time. They won't even take the time to get their lazy
butts out of bed in the morning to pack their kid a simple peanut
butter sandwich before they go to school. There is a whole class
of people out there who live totally dysfunctional lives
basically because of laziness and the incredibly generous
services provided by the state.

I have been having this discussion with a friend of mine for a
long time. She argues that when she takes her kids to grammar
school she sees many kids who are so poorly cared for that one
could argue that the would have been better off to have been
aborted and not grow up in such horrible conditions. I argue that
it is the dysfunctional culture that they come from that needs
aborting by whatever means possible.

No. Humanists see Human rights in broader terms. The right of

No read Fetus. Calling a collection of embryo cells a baby is a
nice
trick.
BTW real babies go without health care in America, doesn't seem
to
bother the
"pro-lifers" at all.
