[Phys-L] Re: The Politics of ID

Meanwhile the threat is that the ID movement will get us arguing about
God and religion when we could be teaching and thinking and arguing

A peaceful weekend to all.

I notice on various special interest lists that when the thread jumps
sufficiently off-topic, participants discover that instead of being
united by their shared interest, they are instead divided by
their manifest differences. When I ponder if ID is one of these
off-topic cleavage points, I presently conclude that it is a relevant
concern for science teachers because it is intruding a non-science
judgment into the field. This time, I expect I will need to tolerate
the background understanding that many participants of this list
have wildly different conceptual justifications for dealing
with people and life events, and remember that they share at least
the desire to keep science science-based.
