Sorry, I can't agree Hugh. I and others have found that math and
science phobic eled teachers, both pre- and inservice can be turned
to a new vision by using Physics by Inquiry. You should find a way
to do it with your education majors, so you can see for yourself.

Alas, too true.

But it does reinforce my argument that we are making a big mistake in
trying to turn math/science phobic students into competent teachers
of math/science to elementary students. At least until we are able to
attract a different sort of student to the business of elementary
education.
