Try OpenOffice available at openoffice.org. It should do exactly wha=
t
you want with exchanging files between excel and something free. It
is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X (must run X11). The ne=
w
version 2 (which I think is still in beta) is great with MS Office
compatibility and look.
