The angular momentum of a system is written as the sum of the orbital
angular momentum and the spin angular momentum in Chapter 10 of the

Do you know of any textbooks where the angular momentum of a system
is written as the sum of its translational angular momentum and its
rotational angular momentum relative to the center of mass?

I don't recall seeing this in Young & Freedman or other oft-used
textbooks and am trying to ascertain whether it's particularly
innovative of the Matter & Interactions book or not.
