I have not been following this thread closely, but looking on
Mark's pertinent comment I glanced at the Bible quote given
  (I think by John Denker) - Timothy 2:11

John (if it is he) is gravely mistaken, quite surely, when he
supposes this  will not happen immediately:    that women
are adjured to be subservient to their husbands is a
recurrent theme of the Southern Baptist church in these parts,
according to female acquaintances. Right now.

[What is more, I am sheepishly here to admit:  some American women
who have surrendered happiness for equality, may have something
to learn from this approach   :-)  ]
