[Phys-L] Re: Finally the secularists strike back

Look at Tony Auth's other cartoon in the Editorial cartoons (1st one). Talk
about the irony...check out the notice posted at the church door. I think I'll
send it to my minister, who recognizes the difficulty of reconciling science
and religion.

Quoting "Strickert, Rick" <rstrickert@SIGNATURESCIENCE.COM>:

The cartoon is somewhat ironic in that:

1. Isaac Newton was a practicing alchemist.
2. Copernicus and other early astronomers, even into the 17th century
earned their living providing to their patrons (today called funding
agencies) astrological predictions upgraded with their newest
astronomical discoveries.
3. It was Einstein who claimed "God does not play dice", to which Niels
Bohr reportedly responded, "Einstein, stop telling God what to do."
4. In the early 20th century, phrenology was a tool of scientists
studying evolution and anthropology.
