[Phys-L] Re: god friendly science

Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet and adhere to many (most?)
of his teachings, though they do not believe in the deity of Christ.
But they are not considered Christians. Mormons adhere to the
teachings Jesus of Nazareth but are not considered Christians.
(Perhaps those more familiar with Mormon theology can enlighten me,
but I believe that Mormons believe that Jesus is "a son of God" but
not the Son of God.)

Mormon's believe that Jesus came to the new world and evangelized
there. Then the two lost tribes of Israel who were in the new world
fought with each other in a great battle. Their theology is quite
different from conventional Christian, Muslim, or Jewish. They
believe that you were a spirit before you were born, and that after
you die you continue to develop into a state of almost? godhood,
provided you were sealed in marriage here on earth. You will be
reunited with your family (whether you like them or not). While they
believe in the biblical accounts they also have the Book of Mormon, or
the account of Jesus in the new world. They like to assume the label
Christian, but they are not generally accepted as Christians by other
denominations.
