When plugging in the photogates, you're prompted with a Choose Timer box. Pick the Collision Timer mode, because it's configured to give V2 and V1 from two photogates.
Next, choose the Recordable Timer to define a timing sequence for the time between gate 1 and 2
Then, create a calculation for acceleration using your equation which uses the two velocities from the collision timer and the time between gates from the recordable timer.
I'll send a DataStudio file with this setup for your review to your personal email address.
Let me know, if you have any other questions.

Hi folks!
I am trying out the PASCO PasPort system and DataStudio.
I can't figure out how to use DataStudio software, PasPort photogate
port and two photogates to calculate acceleration the way I can with
ScienceWorkshop:
a glider with a 1 cm flag passes thru two photogates
accel. = (v2-v1)/(time between gates).
Any suggestions?
(I know I could use a small picket fence a motion sensor, but would
rather use the method described above)
Thanks in advance,
Owen
