Messaging is sweeping the lecture halls. It is the student back-channel.
Some daring instructors arrange a public display for a messaging service
so that students may ask questions anonymously - a particular problem
where lecture halls see monstrously inflated audiences, and questions
and other helpful interactions tend to dry up, it is said.
