Re: Low enrollment courses

Here at Cal State Fullerton we follow a somewhat flexible policy on low
enrollment courses. We have minimum enrollment targets for courses
depending on the level and type. For example lower-division courses
have higher limits than upper-division and graduate courses. General
education courses have higher minimums than service and major courses.
Exceptions to the limits are made for upper-division and graduate
courses that are required for the degree.

In addition, the bottom line really is the budget. Thus, a department
often is allowed to "balance" a few advanced courses that don't meet the
limit with other courses that have robust enrollments.
