MAY 1 - DEADLINE FOR SESSION AND WORKSHOP REQUESTS
Session and Workshop Request forms are due May 1 for the 130th AAPT
National Meeting in Albuquerque, NM. The meeting will take place January
8-12, 2005, and the theme will be based around the World Year of
Physics.

AAPT MEMBERS CAN ATTEND FREE SESSIONS AT THE APRIL APS 2004 MEETING
AAPT members can attend, free of charge, all sessions sponsored by the
Forum on Education at the April 2004 APS meeting in Denver, May 1-4,
2004.

AAPT co-hosts a Department Chairs’ Conference with the American Physical
Society (APS). This year's conference, themed "Physics in the Public
Interest," is scheduled for June 4-6, 2004. Registration is limited to
110
participants on a "first-come, first-served" basis. The deadline for
early
registration is May 14. More information and periodic updates on the

AAPT AWARDS TWO H.S. GRANTS FOR INNOVATIVE TEACHING PROGRAM
AAPT members, Sherry Marshall from Kirkpatrick Science and Air Space
Museum at Omniplex in Oklahoma, OK, and Judy Schmidt of Oak Creek High
School, Oak Creek, WI, were awarded $500 grants each in the High School
Teaching Grants for Innovative Teaching Program. For more information
about this grant program go to

In exchange for working eight hours at the 129th AAPT National Meeting
in
Sacramento July 31-August 4, teachers and students can earn free
membership and registration to the meeting. To see eligibility rules and

Physical Fragments is an online newsletter dedicated to members who have
joined within the last 15 months. The newsletter offers interesting and
timely information about the benefits and services of AAPT Membership,
