Having opened my overnight mail to find 77 sven-virus-generated mailings
(each at about 150 kB), an onslaught which has now been going on for about
three weeks, I must once again plead with everyone on these lists to
double-check that they are not infected. I'm sure almost everybody here
checks regularly for infections, but in case any one is without updated
software, there is a FREE download at McAfee that checks for just the most
recent and most insidious viruses/worms.
They seem to update this every couple of weeks. If you haven't checked your
computer in the last couple of weeks, please do so. I KNOW I am not the
only one under this kind a email barrage--the Virus Newsgroups are full of
people screaming for help.
On a physics note: Next week I will be posting a new module in my
Laboratory Simulation series--this one will be Standing Waves on a String.
This module will not have any video (hard to shoot and see) and will appear
first for Windows. I will port to the Mac in a week or so. I will put a
note in my signature when it's been released. If you haven't checked out my
download site recently, there is a new Energy Management Simulation and a
couple other updates. I've also tried to streamline the Web site so that
you don't have to load all the graphics just to access the download lists.
