Re: vector directions



Doing the "convention" of the the positive x axis going right and
angles measured CCW from this axis works just fine if one is only doing
physics but what happens to the "convention" in aviation? The last
time I was at an airport the runways were still set as clockwise from
North, that would make the typical x axis by +90 degrees.

I require my students to draw a sketch to get credit and I require the
label for the angle as x degrees N of E (or whatever axis seems to
work) or up from the right horizontal or left from the vertical.
