MATLAB is extensively used in engineering courses. As I'm preparing my
electronics course (for the first time), I'm considering whether or not
to use MATLAB. Other tools that *may* be as useful are VPython (used
for its computation and graphing capabilities, not necessarily it's
animation capabilities) and Java (using the OSP, Open Source Physics
classes at opensourcephysics.org)
