OK, you've definitely got my attention, Herb. Can you post the
construction details for us? I'm on pins and noodles waiting to find
out about the role of the tiny piece of foil.

At first hearing, I would have been guessing (incorrectly it seems) that
you were describing a DE-magnetizer since it uses AC current.
