Space Physics Planning Questionnaire

A colleague not currently on PHYS-L asked me to post the following request
for input on a new project to develop undergraduate learning materials on
the space physics earth-sun system:

With best wishes,

===============================

Greetings.

I work for UCAR's (University Corp. for Atmospheric Research) COMET
(Cooperative Program for Meteorology Education &
Training--http://meted.ucar.edu) Program based in Boulder, Colorado. I'm
involved in a new collaborative COMET-NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric
Research) initiative to develop interactive Web-based learning resources for
undergraduate science professors and their students. Right now, we're in the
early planning stages for our first learning module, focused on the
sun-earth system and space physics.

Our science content input will be provided by several people from NCAR's
High Altitude Observatory and the Center for Integrated Space Weather
Modeling (CISM) project.

Although many of our online learning modules are getting used by
undergraduate and graduate-level professors, this is our first project
specifically aimed at the undergraduate audience. So we want to make sure it
helps address some of the needs, classroom contexts, and instructional
challenges faced by professors of undergraduate physics, astronomy,
meteorology, and related fields.

As a first step, we're trying to collect input from undergraduate science
professors. We've developed a short 5-item questionnaire; do you have a few
minutes to fill it out? Also, would any of your colleagues be interested in
offering their input?

If so, the survey is here:

Thanks in advance for any input or advice you might provide,

Dwight Owens, Instructional Designer,
COMET (Cooperative Program for Operational Meteorology Education, &
Training)
