Re: CCD question

First, thank you again for all of the help!

Now, let me apologize. In my single-mindedness to get information I did
not give out the URI for the Kodak information I found; it is at
http://www.kodak.com/global/plugins/acrobat/en/digital/ccd/applicationNotes/chargeCoupledDevice.pdf

As for the question on color & CCD images, I believe you need to take
separate RGB images and then do a color combine to get traditional
'pretty pictures'. To do more scientific work, I'm told you use UVBRI
filters.

I have also found a local author on CCD image processing. His web page
is located at http://www.jburnell.com/

Thank you all, again, for the help.

A couple CCD references to throw into the pot (my Dad's been an amateur

domes and a couple really nice CCDs can be called 'play'!)

"There are many references. The most useful for the amateur is "The CCD
Camera Cookbook" by Richard Berry et al. He shows you how to build one
from a scratch. He's a very practical amateur astronomer who asked the
same questions the students are asking. It is published by Willmann-Bell,
Inc. in Richmond VA 804-320-7016."

"Another is the "Handbook of CCD Astronomy" by Steve B. Howell. It is
published by Cambridge University Press. My guess is that the stuff in this
book is already known by the amateurs." - Art Lucas
