Then I agree with you. You just need to state it that way. Try the
electroscope experiment though. Start collecting those 'dead' 9 V batteries
from wireless mics which typically are around 7.5 V or so. Gather up about
200 V worth.

you will be able to draw a spark that is just al long as the
electrostatic doorknob spark.

To help make this simple connection, chain a bunch of drained 9 V
batteries together in series and connect the terminals to a gold leaf
electroscope.
