'They' are selling enough of them that San Francisco has banned them
from the sidewalks (or so I've heard)

Shown on TV and in person.
Demonstrated to the public on many occasions (I first saw Dean Kamen
riding one more than a year ago at his place in New Hampshire)

Selling to businesses as we speak.

'Less' expensive consumer model isn't out yet.

USPostOffice is using them.
