Here's a neat little citizen science project for PHYS-L members...
Watch the Geminids meteor shower on December 13th and 14th!
Then report your observations here on the PHYS-L listserv, and give us your
latitude & longitude coordinates. Got a GPS receiver for that? If not, you
can find the coordinates for your city right here:
"The source of the Geminid meteor shower, peaking on the night of December
13-14, is not a comet. Broken fragments from a pseudo
asteroid-comet with a mysterious composition generate the Geminids, which
are growing in intensity every year."
