Measuring ?

Denker makes the point that some people in some countries

The recipes in Amsterdam might be adjusted so the recipe

I am holding in front of me such a measuring device from Germany.
The foodstuffs that it purports to gauge with independent marks for each are:

Salz
Haferflocken
Hulsenfruchte - Graupen - Reis
Griess - Rosinen
Mehl
Zucker
Kakao

(rough translations available upon request)

1/2 l 1/4 l 1/8 liter are also marked, along with 10, 20, 30 40,
50 .... up to 500 ccm

The assumption seems to be that each of these various foodstuffs
maintain a density that is constant 'enough'.
The problem with flour stems mainly from humidity sensitivity - or so
I am told by those who claim to know.
