Action is already a well defined term.

For a nice reference, see the Feynman Lectures on Physics, Vol. 1, Chapter
19, "The Principle of Least Action" (a verbatim lecture that describes the
origin of Feynman's fascination with the sum over all paths idea that
ultimately led to his diagrammatic formulation of quantum mechanics.)
