Re: Line break problem

Fortunately our campus has not gone Outlook/Exchange, though many people
use it. I do not use it to avoid most of the viruses that circulate.
So far I have not gotten a virus through Netscape email. I also like
the integrated Composer which is a bare bones html editor. However, all
I want from email is email.

There's nothing wrong with using Netscape mail, or Eudora, or any other e-mail package. But when the whole campus has adopted
Microsoft-Exchange/Outlook it means those of us in this situation would need a dual system like David Bowen described. We would use
one e-mail system just for PHYS-L, and we would use Outlook/Exchange for everything else. That's a real pain.

Can the whole campus switch to something "better" than Outlook/Exchange? No, probably not. Outlook/Exchange probably is "best" for
many campuses. It really does have some nice features. We are making more and more use of calendar features for scheduling
meetings, and we are processing requisitions through a "chain of signatures" by automatic mail-client routing of Excel documents,
etc. There aren't many (any?) other vendors offering as complete a package as Outlook/Exchange. And, if you're already a Microsoft
shop, the Outlook/Exchange package is probably least expensive and easiest to integrate. I'm not a Microsoft lover (or hater) but I
have to admit Outlook/Exchange over all is a pretty good package, and there is no way the college is going to abandon it in the near
future.
