0) In general it is not a super-good idea to focus on
misconceptions. For every correct notion there are
dozens of common incorrect notions, and (in principle)
an unbounded number of less-common incorrect notions.
It is a waste of time to attempt to catalog them all.

In particular, asking colleagues for misconception-laden
articles/stories will usually not get good results, because
normally we don't archive such things.

1) Borrow a science textbook from a local elementary
school. If you can read more than a few pages without
breaking down in laughter and/or tears it is an
uncommonly good book. Fifth or sixth grade is typically
the richest trove of kinematics misconceptions; earlier
grades don't have much physics, and later grades sometimes
get basic kinematics right.

2) Another source is books that apply physics to various
professions and hobbies: aviation books, nursing books,
sports books, et cetera.

3) Another source is an old, off-brand encyclopedia, if
you can lay hands on such a thing. My parents had a set
of Encyclopedia Americana published in the 1950s. It
had an article on the luminiferous ether, along with
innumerable other idiocies.
