----------ANNOUNCEMENT: -------------
Are you interested in introducing socially relevant topics, such as
environmental topics, energy resources, arms control, and scientific habits
of thought, into physics courses? Then join the "physoc" email list for
discussion of these topics, sponsored by the interest group on physics and
society education. Our group also sponsors one or more talk sessions and a
crackerbarrel session at each summer AAPT meeting.

To enroll in the email list, just send an email to
<LISTSERV@LISTSERV.uark.edu>
with the subject line left blank and the following message in the body of
the email:
subscribe physoc Smith Joe
(assuming that your name is Joe Smith). Please list your last name
first--it helps my bookkeeping.

When you are added to the list, you'll automatically receive a confirmation
with instructions about using this list. The most important instructions
are:

1. To send a message to everybody on the list, address it to:
physoc@listserv.uark.edu .
Keep in mind that EVERYBODY on the list will get any message sent to this
address, so be careful and thoughtful about these messages.

2. Physoc messages are archived. The easiest way to access them is by
going to: http://listserv.uark.edu/archives/physoc.html. To access the
archives, you will need to create a password for yourself.
