WORKSHOP FOR NEW PHYSICS AND ASTRONOMY FACULTY DEADLINE SEPT. 27
AAPT has scheduled a Workshop for New Physics and Astronomy Faculty this
coming November 7 - 10 at the American Center for Physics. Both physics
and astronomy faculty who are in their first year or two of their
initial
tenure-track appointment will be attending the Workshop. Letters of
nomination from university department chairs can be sent by email to
Kenneth Krane (kranek@physics.orst.edu) and to Maria Elena Khoury
(mkhoury@aapt.org).
Room and board subsistence during the workshop will be provided for all
participants by a grant from the NSF; travel support to the workshop is
expected to be provided by the department. For more information, please

ABSTRACT DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 12
The deadline for submission of all abstracts for the 126th AAPT National
Meeting in Austin, Texas, is Thursday, September 12. For information on

2002-2003 PHYSICS PRODUCTS CATALOG RELEASED
AAPT has issued their 2002-2003 Physics Products Catalog, which features
many new additions, including Great Ideas for Teaching Astronomy by
Stephen Pompea, Color and Light in Nature by David Lynch and William
Livingston; and A Love of Discovery: Science Education --- The Second
Career of Robert Karplus edited by Robert Fuller.
