No abbreviations

Hi Bernard:
Never assume that every reader of your message will at once
know that J & W refers to Jenkins and White or that B & B
refers to Bleaney and Bleaney. There may be people who
never saw the textbooks to which you refer. Why should
they use mental energy on trying to figure out what the
abbreviations are for? Wouldn't you prefer them thinking
about the content of your message instead? Don't be lazy.
In my opinion abbreviations are OK on repetitions, in
the same message only. It is better to exaggerate than to
puzzle a reader unnecessarily. Keep in mind that your
messages are often read on another continents.

Not quite a correction -- in the other direction (limit, past x-rays)
the second term does go to zero. Well shown in J & W.

Also the B & B dispersion for water was for microwaves not IR....
