Re: virus and/or spam alert

Bill Halpern, manager of the CHEMED-L list has changed the way they handle
mail in order to combat these viruses:

Dear Subscribers,

Because of the number of viral attacks,
I have changed the list parameters to do the following:

1. No attachments will be accepted. If you include an attachment,
your message will be returned to you and will not reach the list.

2. There is a size limit of 200 lines for each message. Hopefully,
any included worms or viruses will be longer than that. This
means that when you are replying to a long message, you must
remove the non essential lines.

3. No HTML will be accepted. Please send your message in plain text.

I am sorry that I must take these steps to protect the list.
If your message is returned to you saying that you have an attachment,
when you did not send one, you probably have a virus and should contact
your computer specialists.

These all sound like proper usenet/listserv etiquette anyway... Perhaps the
PHYS-L list needs to do something similar.

Mike
