Re: Postition Available: Director of Instructional Laboratories

sorry, am i missing something or are you all mocking this starting salary? i
see that the number of negative posts is large. i am hoping to graduate from
universtiy on november with a BTECH in electronic and electrical
engineering. i am currently trying to find out what subject i can teach as i
want to use my degree to get into secondary teaching and get a job abroad in
an international school, as Scotland is a depressing place.
anyway, i diverge, the starting salary for a qualified teacher in Scotland
is £17500, rising to £19000 in 2004 for a starting salary. the highest
salary an unpromoted teacher can reach, after 14 years teaching is £25000,
rising to £26500 in 2004.
i suppose when the australian director of Clysdales bank's parent company
said scotland has been in recession for 200 years is possibly true. however
backwards this country and the uk may be, i think that a salary of $30-35000
pa is acceptable.
out of curiosity, what would a secondary teacher be paid in the u.s and
would there be any way i could teach in the U.S with a degree or Teaching
certificate?
