Re: Using CD's in Physics demos/activities

Oh! Now I see. That image didn't spring to mind for two reasons.

First, they quit using Ole Sparky at Huntsville several years ago. And even
when they did use him, I don't think they kept a bucket of water in the
corner to soak the sponge in like in The Green Mile. I reckon the subjects
were sweating enough to make good contact with the hat. But maybe they DID
need a bucket of water to put out the fire.

They're much more humane nowadays, they put 'em to sleep like surplus dogs
at the animal pound. Which brings up a question: Do they use sterile needles
for lethal injections?

Second reason was I am so inured to my state's use of "the ultimate
rehabilitation" down at Huntsville that the practice doesn't intrude on my
thinking when the subject is physics.

I'm only guessing but I think this refers to the starring role of Texas in
the great electrocution jamboree.

Microwave them. Keep a small container of water in the back corner,
and
play "Governor of Texas!" :^)
