Re: multimeter repair

These are digital meters, right?

The most common 'damage' occurs when they are set to measure current
and 'accidentally' get put directly across a battery.

They PROBABLY have a fuse that protects the more expensive innards.
Friendly fuses just pop out of their holder and take a replacement
from Radio-Shack.

I'll be happy to 'lead you thru' the opening, exploration phase of
this project.

For more direct 'hands-on' assistance, you'll hafta bring 'em to Durham.

Satisfaction guaranteed, or double your money back!!!!

We have a number of Extech 380771 multimeters that
have been damaged by another teacher's classes. Does
anyone know of any shops who would be willing to do a
"near-charity" repair of these meters? Especially in
the RTP area of NC? Maybe the instrument shop of a
university would be willing to play good samaritan?
Thanks. John Barrere Apex HS, Apex, NC?
