Globular clusters are, indeed, old. They are primarily late spectral types,
lots of white dwarfs, and very little gas and dust. Any such material added
to the ISM of a globular cluster is likely not bound, and would escape.
Absent raw materials, there's nothing to make new stars which would
incorporate the processed material.

The disk of the Galaxy, in contrast, is rich in interstellar material, so we
see new stars which incorporate the processed stuff from earlier
generations.
