Re: expansion of the universe

Gary Turner wrote:
So what is the universe expanding into? Nothing! Not empty space, but
nothing. By definition, the universe is everything. If there was
something for a universe to expand into, then that would have to be a part
of the universe - but then you just go around in circular reasoning.

This sounds terribly oversimplified to me. Isn't it true that
mainstream cosmological investigation is considering several
possibilities beyond the simple nothing-everything model? I thought it
was considered likely that the universe is expanding into one or more
dimensions which are physically real but undetectable by our
3-dimensional perceptions. I thought there are plausible models which
allow for a pair of universes, or even many similar universes. Am I
getting my science and my science fiction mixed up here?

Since The Creator seems to be so fond of creating things in opposing
pairs (quark-antiquark, electron-positron, beta-antineutrino,
positron-neutrino, etc.), I'm intrigued by the possibility of a
universe-antiuniverse Creation many billions of years ago.

Best wishes,

Larry
