Re: Thermal Energy

It is to me intriguing that a system must interact with the external world
in order to:

1) Convert its macroscopic "spin" kinetic energy to "thermal" energy,
and/or
2) Use its internal energy supply to acquire a macroscopic CM acceleration
(eg: the skater pushing off from a wall).

1) is because of the conservation of angular momentum
2) is because of the conservation of linear momentum.
