I still think, instinctively, that a connection between the surface
charge and equipotential lines exist, but after sketching a little
I am no longer sure the "dipole-like" set of lines is consistent
with pictures shown in C&S. On the contrary, dipole-like
pattern seems to contradict their pictures. What do you think?
Is not true that ALL the equipotential lines (for a single segment
strip) should should be concave when one looks along the
direction of E inside the wire (in the direction of conventional
current)? I should read Chapter 6 from C&S again, and other
references. Sorry for being too impulsive.
