Another problem with the language of physics. We are so comfortable with
the concept and use of a "field" that we forget the there is no such thing!!!

The concept is a "field" is a mathematical invention -- The are no "field
lines" near a charge or a magnet. These are mental constructs. We
commonly think that it makes life much easier but often it does not.
