We have become aware of a new social engineering technique for spreading
Trojans, worms, and viruses. The W32.MyParty@mm worm being circulated
around the Internet has the subject line entitled "new photos from my
party!" and inside the body of e-mail message is what appears to be a URL
with the name www.myparty.yahoo.com . However, it is
actually a .com executable attachment to the e-mail that is run when you
double click it. The .com application is the worm. Some e-mail scanners
already detect this worm-infected attachment.
We commend that all attachments with the above URL like name be
deleted immediately and that all DOE sites be aware of this new social
engineering technique.
