Re: Mapping the Electric Field

The silver and gold paint pens in art stores do not use silver or gold.
These inks are not conductive.

You can get conductive ink pens from Mouser Electronics
http://www.mouser.com/
Part number: 5168-2200ST
or Part number 5168-2200MT

Graphite pencils that are available in art supply stores are also conductive
(not nearly as conductive as conductive ink pens, though). Mechanical pencil
lead can also be used to draw conductive lines.

My students and I are going to be mapping electric fields. We have t=
he Pasco kits. The problem is that the special conducting ink pens a=
re missing. Do you think that the silver paint pens you get in the s=
tore would work to draw electrodes? =20
