Insert a magnet into the loop.  A common demo. is to place a tin or lead
sheet to fit the concave bottom of a glass dewar filled with pumped He.  A
magnet on a thread is lowered. Well before it reaches the plate, it
floats. I presume from knowing the density of He at the particular
pressure (temp.), the density and mass of the magnet, its strength, etc.
one may calc. the current.

One can, of course, use a wire coil (any number of turns and either
torroidally or parallel.).  this method may also afford a measurement of
the current (conservation of energy on "creation") or by connecting the
coil to a ballistic galvo. and measuring the charge "created" by the
decaying current.
