Re: OXYMORON

Hi,
As I understand it the term "oxymoron" was
primarily a literary term for a contradiction of
terms for literary effect. The classic example is
"deafening silence." Somewhere along the way its
meaning was broadend to just contradiction of
terms.

Thanks

ARGUING ABOUT WORDS?

By a stretch of imagination the word OXYMORON can be
said to be an oxymoron (oxy being "keen or sharp" in Greek).
