Gary,
We used Kittel and Kroemer, Thermal Physics, supplemented by the Schaum's
Outline "Thermodynamics with chemical applications" in the past. I like
Kittel a lot and have used it before Dan's book was published, but I would
recommend Dan Schroder's Thermal Physics for you.

I just had our thermodynamics course dumped in my lap. The fellow

going to teach it can't. I am not up on current text books. Any
recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
