We all saw tremendous clouds of dark gray dust as the buildings
collapsed. I understand that this is all pulverized concrete. It
strikes me that the energy required to pulverize all that concrete
must be a significant factor in why the building appeared to be in
slow motion once it was well into collapse and why Mr. 82nd floor was
able to ride the building down.

Hi:

I just heard on the news that the police have no confirmation of someone
riding the collapse down from the 82nd floor and living and that they do not
believe it to be true.

Ed Schweber

Interesting. I watched an interview of either a fireman or a
security guard who was with two other people in an elevator on some
high floor in which they rode out the collapse (with injuries).
Hmmm...

At any rate, what about the energy required to pulverize the cement?
