Re: 10 yr old (The 7% solution)



John's comment about not knowing whether laugh or cry reminds me of incident
from my college days.

I had gone to a crowded movie theater to watch the latest Sherlock Holmes
movie. "The 7% solution" as I recall. At some point early in the movie
Sherlock Holmes remarked how he learned Calculus in 6-weeks. At that
utterance I heard one very loud set of guffawing and laughter coming from
one person in the crowded theater and I thought I recognized it. Sure
enough after the movie as everyone was filing out, I saw my Calculus
teacher, who was apparently very amused by the idea of teaching someone
Calculus in 6-weeks. It took him a little longer with me.
