Re: floating a destroyer

Answer One:
No, because mush less water than that would work in a properly fitting and
fully supported tank.

Answer Two:
The "weight" part is also confused, but farmers can give a "Fermi" answer
to this question because they pay for the water, one way or another.

An Aside:
The computation would be interesting if applied to raising the chili
ingredients by irrigation --- or the magic of turning water into milk.
Transpiration happens.

On the back of a box of vegetarian chili is the following "fantastic fact":

The quantity of water that is used to produce a 1,000 lb. steer would
float a destroyer.

I have two questions:

1. Does it make sense the way it is worded?
2. I suppose they want to say the weight of the water is equivalent to the
weight of a destroyer. How did they figure out how much water is needed to
produce a steer?
