Your e/m tube has 'gone bad' - I assume the filament has burnt out. Ours (an
old copy of the old Sargent Welch model) was apparently built or rebuilt by
the glassblowing shop at the University of British Columbia. Check out your
local scientific glassblower - they may enjoy a change from building
distilation apparatus.
