Re: NARCAP, UAP & UFOs

Here is just a bit more info I learned from the web that indicates that
the NARCAP may not be as unbiased as it claims.

On Thu, 10 May 2001, brian whatcott relayed a note from the current
"AirJet Airline World News" email newletter:

*** National Aviation Reporting Center For Anomalous Phenomena

(Palo Alto, CA) NARCAP held its first, organizational meeting on 17
Feb 01 at the California Institute for Physics and Astrophysics.
[material deleted]
The purpose of the meeting was to set the tone for
an in-depth, unbiased study of UAP and its relationship with aviation
safety. The NARCAP remains unaffiliated and independent from
organizations investigating "UFOs". NARCAP has no basis for conjecture
regarding the true nature or source of this phenomenon.

The following material is quoted from the description of "signer" of "An
Invitation to ETI" ( http://members.aol.com/WelcomeETI/5.html )

--------------------------------------------
Mr. Joseph Firmage is chairman and CEO of OneCosmos Network, which is
"working to create science-based entertainment and learning that touches
the heart and soul." He is chairman of three other organizations,
too: Intend Change, the International Space Sciences Organization, and the
California Institute for Physics and Astrophysics. Earlier he wrote a
book presenting a highly positive view of extraterrestrial intelligence
and its importance to humanity. He has sponsored two unique high-level
workshops to study eight contact scenarios and how to prepare for
them. He was the founder and CEO of USWeb, "the world's largest Internet
engineering and communications services firm," but left in 1999 at age 28
in order to pursue his new interests.
