1. 2002 WINTER MEETING SESSION & WORKSHOP REQUEST FORMS DEADLINE MAY 1

The deadline for submission of all Session and Workshop Request Forms for the 2002 Winter Meeting in Philadelphia, PA, is Tuesday, May 1. Please submit your proposals electronically through the web at: http:/oliver.aapt.org/aapt_forms/sessions.cfm for Sessions or http:/oliver.aapt.org/aapt_forms/workshop.cfm for Workshops.

2. 2001 SUMMER MEETING POST DEADLINE ABSTRACTS

The deadline to submit post deadline contributed and poster abstracts for the Summer Meeting in Rochester, NY is July 13. There is no longer a fee associated with abstract submissions, and while only one contributed oral paper may be given per individual, there is no limit to the number of poster papers that may be submitted. Submit electronically through the web at www.aapt.org/meetings/submit.html.

3. AAPT APPARATUS COMPETITION

Applications are now being solicited for the annual AAPT Apparatus Competition. Entries will be displayed and judged at the 123rd AAPT National Meeting, July 21–25, 2001. Prizes are $100 each in the Low-Cost category ($65 or less to build), and up to 6 low-cost prizes may be awarded. In the Lecture Demo / Advanced Lab category the prizes are 1st: $1000, 2nd: $600, and 3rd: $200. PASCO Scientific provides the prize money for the apparatus competition.

4. ONLINE COURSE SYLLABI

Do you have a course syllabus online that you might like to share with other faculty teaching the same or a similar course? This might be a valuable resource for new faculty members or faculty teaching the course for the first time.
You can submit the course information and URL for your syllabus to a searchable online database. The URL for the database is http://oliver.aapt.org/PSRC_forms/syllabi.html. Alternatively, you can find a syllabus for a new course that you might be teaching or revising next semester. Syllabi for introductory and advanced courses are available.

5. FULLER FUND MEMBERSHIP NOMINATIONS

The Harold Q & Charlotte Mae Fuller Fund was created to enhance the internationalization of AAPT membership and is intended to be beneficial to physics teachers in developing countries with non-convertible currencies.

Chosen individuals responding in a positive manner will have their full membership dues paid to receive the Physics Teacher (or the American Journal of Physics, if they prefer) for a period of two years.
